  • Maintain food safety operational requirements, policies, and procedures in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), FSMA and regulatory standards.
  • Be able to independently manage and represent site during external and internal audits, customer audits, and food safety audits.
  • Manage and directly responsible for QA supervisors and team members. Responsible that their duties and actions comply with company standard operating policies on food safety, QA, and sanitation. Monitor attendance and overtime using company supported electronic system.
  • Write and implement Policies, SOPs and work instructions as needed to standardize food safety and quality expectations and processes.
  • Manage the transition to electronic record keeping within the company supported electronic system (CAT2).
  • Implement corrective actions, conduct incidental non-conformity investigations, root cause analyses and reviews.
  • Manage, monitor, and report on status of Quality System, HACCP, pest, and sanitation plans to all levels of company. This reporting may include Sanitation Contractor and USDA.
  • Work with operations to assure processes ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to shipment.
  • Ensure daily Sanitation and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Preventive Control Standards are strictly enforced throughout facility. Ensure HACCP requirements are satisfied prior to pre-shipment release of finished products.
  • Communicates food safety and quality standards and parameters to operations, transportation, and other appropriate staff.
  • Manage food safety record keeping, documentation and confidentiality of all aspects of company records. Manage record destruction per company policy.
  • Monitor and manage site pest control program.
  • Conduct food safety and GMP trainings to new and existing employees and drive improvement in facility wide food safety culture.
  • Coordinate product sampling, testing by third party lab and documentation of test results as needed.
  • Reviews and responds to customer feedback.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
