POSITION: Quality Assurance Manager

RANGE: $70k TO $80k

REPORTS TO: Food Manufacturing Operations Director

Position Overview:

The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for direct management of plant quality activities in compliance with all applicable state and federal food safety regulations and industry certifications, including British Retail Consortium Global Standards (BRC). Following food safety, quality and food regulatory requirements are critical when producing our product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Direct Quality Assurance department
• Implement and update quality programs & policies
• Perform training of plant personnel on quality programs & policies
• Responsible for maintaining the company’s compliance with all applicable state and federal food safety requirements (FDA, NYS Dept of Ag & Markets)
• Production line quality assessments through in-line auditing & customer specifications audits
• Responsible for proactively establishing and maintaining all GMPs & SOPs
• Ongoing maintenance of the company’s BRC certification
• Facility housekeeping and employee hygiene
• HACCP compliance
• External supplier audits and incoming raw material quality testing
• Monthly internal compliance audits
• Ongoing analysis and interpretation of statistical data
• Partnering with senior management to promote a culture of quality and food safety within the organization
• Participate in plant teams, providing subject matter expertise to improve our food safety program and the quality of our products

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field
• Minimum 5 years experience as QA Manager in a food manufacturing facility Bakery industry experience highly preferable but not required
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to implement and manage a statistical process control (SPC) system
• Lean manufacturing experience preferable

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
