We are looking for a Quality Assurance Tester.Division of Information Technology, located at 1305 E. Walnut, Des Moines, IA is seeking a person as Software Developer/Programmer 4 Application Product Analyst/Tester. Client requests local candidate. This is a contract and Remote position and the project team is in Des Moines, IA.

Responsibilities:

• These positions will test applications that support Child Welfare, Child Care Assistance,Food Assistance, Family Investment Program, Medicaid, Child Support, and Enterprise Systems.
• In addition to testing duties, the agency is looking for automated test data creation & maintenance experience, and light Business Analyst duties, which will mostly involve gathering requirements around production issues and light enhancements. primarily has two environments:
• Legacy Cobol/CICS/IDMS/VSAM Mainframe systems and client server/Web .NET systems.
• Most systems are centralized but there are distributed systems as well that are used in field offices and DHS owned and operated facilities.
• Many systems are home grown while some systems use third-party applications. Due to the COVID pandemic, the position will work remotely with the development teams through Microsoft Teams.
• However, it is unclear if this will be a permanent, so it is expected that the candidate be located in the Des Moines Metro area as to be able to come to the office as needed.
• Limit candidates to those currently living and working in the Des Moines Metro.

Required Skills:

• Play critical role in testing products to verify against specifications and validating product feature concepts for future and current requirements using manual testing processes and automated regression testing suites.
• Write scripts for automated regression testing.
• Write scripts and procedures to help create and maintain testing data / regions.
• Maintain documentation in study library or tools provided for knowledge management and future benchmarking.
• Serves as a resource and/or participant in business process re-design activities.
• Assists the customer in determining if and how system enhancements may improve process-flow and business function.
• Perform some or all the following types of testing: user acceptance, functional, regression and usability
• Test not only the technology, but also the process and role changes
• Validate existing ‘to be’ processes as part of documentation process and updating documentation of the changed business processes as needed.
• Understanding business requirements and system documentation, as well as contributing to end- user and documentation libraries.
• Be a collaboration point with system development team and client-facing teams to ensure clarification of requirements and translate into needs for product features.
• Works with quality assurance and programming teams to ensure changes are migrated into production correctly.
• Interacts with technical teams and SME’s to clarify business requirements.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour

Experience:

• both business and technical documentation: 5 years (Preferred)
• schedule UAT tasks and risk-based testing: 5 years (Preferred)
• Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel,: 5 years (Preferred)
• data manipulation in both business and functional asp: 5 years (Preferred)
• data element over a specific period of time: 5 years (Preferred)
• grammatically correct, effective, professional,: 5 years (Preferred)
• high levels of interpersonal and communication skills: 5 years (Preferred)
• self-direction, and able to work with or no supervision.: 5 years (Preferred)
• use third party tools and system utilities.: 3 years (Preferred)
• Propose solutions that cross multiple platforms: 3 years (Preferred)
• code development/testing on the Windows .NET platform: 1 year (Preferred)
• Write scripts for use in an automated regression: 1 year (Preferred)
• working in Agile and Waterfall project methodologies: 1 year (Preferred)
• in vetting an Automated Regression Suite Tool.: 1 year (Preferred)
