The Rice Lake plant is looking for an Quality Audit Coordinator, to join our team on 1st shift. Pay is $25.76 per hour.


Hours: 7 am to 3 pm, some flexibility required.

SUMMARY:

The basic purpose of this position is to: Serve as a technical expert on HACCP, Food Safety, Food Security and Quality tools and processes for plant personnel. Assist with development and implementation of Quality Assurance and Food Safety policies and programs in the manufacturing operation. Primarily work first shift Monday through Friday, but must have a flexible schedule to support activities on all shifts including occasional night and weekend coverage. Proactively support internal and external customers.

Assure compliance to food safety and quality standards for the manufacturing operation, keep lines of communication open with production, sanitation and maintenance personnel. Provide leadership to quality employees on all shifts in coordination with Quality Manager & Supervisor. Report directly to the Quality & Sanitation Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Training:

  • -Review new and existing corporate quality policies and procedures. Update internal plant documents as necessary.
  • -Support plant wide documentation control process to meet audit requirements.
  • -Review all third party, customer and internal audit standards to ensure compliance.
  • -Assist all plant departments with the coordination and preparation of audit information.
  • -Communicate areas of non-compliance to individual departments.
  • -Conduct internal quality systems evaluations.
  • -Participate in or lead applicable portions of 3rd party and customer audits.
  • -Conduct policy and procedural training for plant.
  • -Facilitate root cause analysis for non-conforming quality incidents. Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • -Helps to build and promote a strong “Teamwork” environment in each individual work group, the factory, and the company.
  • -Assist in training plant personnel on new plant SOP's or refresher training as needed
  • -May be required to participate in a continuous improvement process.
  • -Assist in annual allergen testing validations
  • -Familiarity with software systems such as Infinity QS, SAP, Excel, Word, OneNote and WMS.
  • -Back-up HACCP Coordinator for the facility. Maintains HACCP, Food Safety and Food Defense plan system documentation and conducts annual system reviews
  • -Act as back-up to Quality Lead and Quality Tech as needed
  • -Keeps area clean and orderly in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • -Promotes and adheres to company safety regulations.
  • -Must complete certifications for Principles of Internal Auditing and PCQI in the first 6 months.
  • -Other duties as assigned.


Documentation/Plant Programs:

  • -Maintain and file all Quality records in a timely manner
  • -Maintain audit binders in OneNote
  • -Ensure plant quality specification limits match Corporate Manufacturing Specifications
  • -Ensure maintenance of plant quality control sheets, specifications, sheets, process flows, packaging PDF’s and pallet sheets
  • -Investigate, generate, and route FM reports as backup to quality leads
  • -Maintain sample and calibration assignment schedules
  • -Maintain assignment schedule of internal inspections and audits; verify completeness of all internal inspections and audits
  • -Conducts bi-annual material allergen reviews and quarterly Food Defense Audits
  • -Document pest control issues on plant Pest Control Service Request Log
  • -Monitor and update the Quality Notification Action Register as needed and hold quarterly meetings with the maintenance department to review quality notifications
  • -Upload audit findings into Intelex
  • -Maintain the audit CAPA log
  • -Develop and maintain plant Quality sheets
  • -Act as lead coordinator for plant Environmental Monitoring Program


Other:

  • -Assist in Traceability and Mock Recall exercises as primary back up for Quality Manager
  • -Assist in preparing finished product sample shipments as requested by Sales/Marketing/Customers
  • -Act as backup for taking weekly EMP samples, including working start-up shifts as needed
  • -Assist with plant test runs as needed


QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Associate Degree in a science or management discipline preferred (2 year Technical College degree).

2-5 years in a manufacturing or quality environment.

Strong organizational skills.

Proficient word processing and spreadsheet skills (MS Word, Excel).

Knowledge of HACCP and general QC/GMP practices and procedures.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
