The successful candidate will have responsibility for the QC testing of raw materials and industrial protective coatings at various stages of the manufacturing process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Quality Control Technician works with the Chemical Department Manager, Production and Warehouse Staff, and R&D Chemists/Technicians on projects typically falling into the following categories, i.e., raw material testing and labelling, receiving, sampling, and testing, product testing, quality checking, and general lab activity.

Quality Control

• Perform tests of raw materials and manufactured products to ensure that the material falls within QC specifications.
• Check the finished goods quality to ensure that products meet QC specifications.
• Record all key data on SharePoint, a web sharing platform.
• Project work reports using the standard lab report format.
• Active participation in all general lab and company activity.
• Tests commonly ran include but are not limited to FTIR, viscosity, density, sieving, reactivity, and gel time among others.

Research & Development

• Aid in routine QC testing of R&D trial products, evaluation of new and stock raw material.
• Support R&D by conducting tests on performance of the products in development, e.g., mechanical properties, chemical resistance, and immersion resistance among others.
• Record all key data on SharePoint.

Key Skills / Qualifications:

• Must have proven working experience in a chemical laboratory (testing/QC/QA). Experience in manufacturing industrial coating/repair composites is a plus.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have solid knowledge of Chemistry and Math
• Demonstrate strong practical / hands-on approach to their work.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Should have a keen eye for detail and a flexible “can-do” attitude.
• Ability to deal with strict deadlines.
• Able to communicate in both English and Spanish.
