This position requires Manufacturing Experience.

The Quality Engineer is responsible to evaluate and improve product quality and the quality system. The Quality Engineer assists in monitoring and improving the effectiveness of the quality system and controls.

Quality Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration of production and processes to ensure product quality.
  • Communicate with the customer.
  • Prepare FMEA, Control Plan, and PPAP submissions and approval.
  • Train personnel in the use of procedures, work instructions and product acceptance standards.
  • Distribute and verify receipt of procedures, procedure specific forms, electronic form data and corporate, plant generated work instructions.
  • Ensure that plant documents requiring controls are identified and properly introduced into the system as well as audits of the quality systems ensuring currency at each location.
  • Maintain an effective current document matrix.
  • Communicate significant issues or developments to management and recommend corrective/preventative actions.
  • Support a zero tolerance culture to address behavior as well as work conditions to achieve an Injury Incident Rate per the Budgeted Year.
  • Support to achieve OE customer delivery of 100%. Achieve service delivery rates of 98%.
  • Support to achieve all customer targets for PPM and customer complaints. Target is single digit PPM’s.
  • Support successful launch of all new programs.
  • Support the Company Production System.
  • Help throughout all operations to ensure achievement of all productivity targets.
  • Support the successful implementation and execution of new process and systems technology to improve cost structure and provide superior customer service.
  • Support the goals of all financial expectations as established by the business plan.
  • Support the manufacturing strategy and footprint for plant.
  • Support all activities required to ensure smooth operational integration of any acquisitions into the company culture and processes.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Quality Engineer Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of quality functions, customer systems and requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Understanding of quality systems,
  • Certified internal auditor for quality systems.
  • Strong problem solving skills with ability to lead a team through the process.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Salary $75,000 - $85,000 a year with relocation assistance.
