Job Summary:

In performing day-to-day activities, QSV Quality SME will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:

  • Apply critical-thinking skills to understand complex, data structures, identifying trends and themes to drive operational improvement
  • Support deployment education opportunities at the National, VISN, and/or site level to ensure end users understand metrics and reporting tools
  • Aggregate, evaluate, and monitor metric outcomes during go-live ensuring a seamless transition into sustainment, collaborating with supporting pillars and teams
  • Advise client and EHRM-IO program leadership using a data-driven, evidence-based approaches to address issues and concerns impacting deployment and/or stabilization
  • Identifies quality and safety lessons learned; contributes to the program lessons learned inventory, monitoring progress to ensure process improvement is implemented
  • Provides expertise in identifying, planning, and deployment of proactive approaches to improve the quality of the implementation
  • Develops and reviews internal and external briefing materials and deliverables
  • Apply prior informatics and/or consulting experience to advise on best practices to improve the overall client experience
  • Candidates should have strong consulting experience in quality management, clinical informatics, process improvement, and/or or project management; preferred skills: experience with large scale program and electronic health record implementation

Basic Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience is required. An additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
  • Must be able to assess information and knowledge-based needs of healthcare professionals and patients; characterizes evaluates, and refines clinical processes
  • Can develop, implement, and refine clinical decision support systems, and leads or participates in the procurement, customization, development, implementation, management, evaluation, and continuous improvement of clinical information systems, such as EHRs and order-entry systems
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Master’s degree in Healthcare of related scientific, technical or clinical discipline

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with the VA
  • Experience implementing Electronic Health Records
  • Clinical safety/quality experience
  • Data analysis and metrics management/development experience
