Position Summary:

Quality technicians are responsible for conducting testing procedures during manufacturing processes to ensure that products comply with quality standards within a large, 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Main Responsibilities:

• Acts as an auditor for quality results of Production Department
• Acts as point of contact for Production Supervisor and Quality Supervisor regarding quality
• Performs product quality checks every two hours
• Performs hourly part checks
• Responsible for use/handling of quality measuring devices
• Responsible for accurate completion of quality paperwork
• Audits color and part checks
• Responsible for saving/scrapping decisions
• Owns “Red tag process” (marking product of questionable quality).
• Audits process set points
• Performs line clearance / first article inspection
• Generates product package labels for cell
• Audits label and rate schedule
• Collects flex samples
• Maintains standards for product quality-testing areas within the plant

Qualifications:

• Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) preferred
• Experience with ISO9000/QS9000/TS16949 Quality Systems & Auditing, a plus
• Strong decision-making, analytical skills, and proven ability to work cross-functionally
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and mathematical abilities
• Must be able to accurately read quality measuring tools (i.e. caliper, micrometer, square, and tape measure) - preferred
• Good communication skills

• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment where temperatures that can become very hot depending on the weather.
• Must be self-directed and motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
