Mercy Medical Center a member of Trinity Health Of New England is looking for a Receptionist to join our Health Care for the Homeless Team. Our vision is to provide state-of-the-art healthcare to those within our local communities, creating a positive impact for each individual that walks through our doors.
The Receptionist is responsible providing exceptional customer service to all patients and clients of the medical clinic located at the Friends of the Homeless Shelter. The receptionist handles all incoming phone calls, scheduling, registration and greets visitors and facilitates patient flow while promoting a positive patient experience. The Receptionist completes a variety of clerical and data entry assignments and creates and maintains a professional, caring and customer-oriented environment.

Work Hours/Shift:

  • Full-Time, 40 hrs. Monday – Friday. 8am - 4:30pm

You Will Be Responsible For :

  • Exceptional Patient Care : Contributes to overall quality of care by treating all patients with respect and dignity.
  • Excellent Communicator : Provides exceptional customer service in person and over the phone with patient, staff, and family members
  • Technical Familiarity: Maintains proficiency with office computer systems. Performs clerical duties in a fast-paced environment . Knowledge of EMR system
  • Active Teamwork : Supports clinical staff with clerical tasks with positive energy

Requirements :

  • Education : High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required. Associate's preferred
  • Preferably 1 -2 years' experience in healthcare
  • Excellent computer abilities.
  • Excellent written, oral communication and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to follow written and verbal directions with multiple steps . Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently within a team treatment model. Ability to manage multiple phone lines simultaneously.
  • Bilingual / bicultural in Spanish preferred
