Position Summary: Full-time Receptionist is needed for a busy Internal Medicine office taking phone calls from our patients, scheduling appointments and taking messages for our providers. Successful candidate must maintain a professional image in the office and in all communications. Must be able to multi-task while maintaining good patient and staff relations along with providing outstanding customer service.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Taking phone calls from patients, answering or referring inquires appropriately.
  • Optimizes patient satisfaction, utilization by scheduling appointments by telephone or in person through computer software systems.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Greets and welcomes patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone, answering or referring inquiries appropriately.
  • Maintains patient records by obtaining and accurately recording patient demographics, insurance, and billing information.
  • Collects co-payments at the time of service, receives payments on accounts and reconciles daily cash reports.
  • Responds appropriately to unexpected office events and situations.
  • Protects the right of patients by maintaining confidentiality of personal, health and financial information.
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent computer, telephone, and communication skills
  • Customer service skills, organization, and attention to detail
  • Dependable, a team player, friendly and professional
  • Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced and stressful environment and manage a multi-line telephone system.
  • Medical office experience preferred, but not required

Hours: Monday-Friday 8-5pm
