The Raritan Bay Area YMCA is currently accepting applications/resumes for a Recreation & Sports Program Manager.

The Raritan Bay Area YMCA has served the ever-evolving needs of our community since 1912. We enthusiastically serve over 5,000 members in the Raritan Bay area in our community building initiatives through Healthy Living, Youth Development and Social Responsibility.

Under the guidance of the Senior Program Director, the Recreation & Sports Program Manager is responsible for presenting a positive and competent image of the YMCA through quality service designed to meet the needs of the community. This individual will also support health seekers and our community in the pursuit of health and well-being and will be flexible to meet requirements of the position including evenings, and weekends. The Recreation & Sports Program Manager is also responsible for quality service in the areas of sports and aquatics programs. This person is responsible for continuous high-quality customer service, which includes, but is not limited to, meeting internal and external customer needs, and for presenting a positive attitude toward the YMCA, its staff, and its programs.

The Recreation & Sports Program Manager will consistently strive to demonstrate cause-driven leadership through the following YMCA Leadership Competencies - Mission Advancement; Collaboration; Operational Effectiveness and Personal Growth. The Health and Wellness Manager engages in and promotes the YMCA mission through the core values- Honesty, Caring, Responsibility, Respect and Faith.

Essential duties include:

• Lead the program staff in interpreting and communicating the YMCA mission, objectives, and programs to members and program participants
• Using excellent customer service skills, establish and maintain effective working relationships with all members, other staff and all visitors and constituents of the YMCA
• Assure and oversee the cleanliness and safety of all aquatic program areas for the Y. Assure all equipment is safely and preventatively maintained. Ensure routine pool maintenance at the Y aquatic facilities, working with pool specialist and aquatics staff.

BASE HOURS: This is an exempt position with a 40 hour work week (exclusive of 1/2 hour lunch) ; includes Saturdays. Schedule as approved by supervisor.

• At least five years experience in health and wellness programming and management preferred.
• Bi-lingual preferred (English/Spanish).
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in exercise science, physical education, recreation management, or related field preferred.
• CPR/AED/First Aid Certified
• Hold or maintain professional certification through a nationally recognized organization preferred. Eligible for or holds Healthy Lifestyle Principles, Strength Training, Exercise Instructor, and Fitness Specialist or related certifications.
