The Arc of Ocean County is looking for a Recreation Specialist to work in our Family Support Department to provide safe, engaging, and meaningful opportunities for Individuals with disabilities in Ocean County.
Schedule: Flexible according to program needs, Saturdays Required.
Pay: From $19.80 Per Hour, Bi-Weekly Pay Schedule, Overtime Availability
Description
Recreation Specialists provides opportunities for participants to enhance quality of life by increasing socialization skills, integrating into the community, and participating in recreational activities on site and in their community. Responsibilities would include but are not limited to:- Coordinating small group trips and specific outings based on individual needs.
- Communicating effectively with supervisors, families, guardians, funding and regulatory agency personnel, professionals and others necessary to meet the needs of individuals served.
- Accurately report incidents in a timely and comprehensive manner.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have a Valid NJ Driver’s License with no more than five points
- At least one year of longevity with a previous employer
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities
- All employees are required to be fully vaccinated and up to date with vaccine status
Education: High School Diploma or GED
