Recreation Therapist – Adult Group Home – 40 hrs/wk (900RT)

Available Shifts:

Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday (Flexible hours)

Salary: $55,000/yr

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation or Human Service Field
• One year of experience working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities preferred

Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Work with individual residents, resident groups and appropriate staff regarding scheduling, planning, implementation and supervision of a therapeutic and general recreational program.
• Instruct and consult with direct care staff regarding their participation and role in recreation programming activities.
• Initiate and maintain appropriate communication with other clinical disciplines as appropriate to assure coordination and integration of services.
• Order and maintain supplies and equipment in a timely manner and good working order.
• Maintain community outing and trip logs including financial information and receipts.
• Maintain daily activity schedule for all in house activities.
• Review and update, annually and as needed, the Comprehensive Functional Assessment and Abilities Profile.

Non-Essential Functions:

• Initiate and participate in in-service training.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings regarding resident evaluation and treatment plan development.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to bend, lift and push more than 100 pounds.
• Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Provide hand over hand assistance when needed.
