The Pennsylvania Migrant Education Program at Millersville University is seeking to fill the following position:
Full-Time Recruitment Specialist
The Migrant Education statewide recruiter is responsible for seeking out children of seasonal/temporary migratory agricultural workers, certifying and verifying their initial eligibility, and enrolling children in the Migrant Education program. The Migrant Education statewide recruiter is responsible for communicating with schools and agencies to advocate for and assist all students in developing educational competencies. In addition, uploading data and Certificate of Eligibility information within the defined PA State quality control timeframe.
Responsibilities include:
Recruitment locations are in counties: York, Hanover, Gettysburg, Altoona, Somerset, Greencastle, Shippensburg, Bedford, Indiana, Greensburg, State College, Mercersburg, Waynesboro, Martinsburg.
1. Coordinate with schools, area agencies, and local businesses to identify new students moving into the area.
2. Enroll students in the program using the Certificate of Eligibility (COE) and complete all documentation following State guidelines
3. Assist Student Support Specialists with all necessary information.
4. Collect all State mandated data, maintain up-to-date reports and reports, complete Needs Assessment forms as required, and attend all State and local meetings and training sessions.
Requirements:
-Bilingual *Nepali/Spanish/English* Preferred
-Working Knowledge of Computers, Data Entry, etc.
-Must have transportation and a valid Driver’s License
-Willingness to travel across the state and occasionally out of state
-Self-paced, self-motivated
-Willingness to go to farms, food processing plants, orchards, etc. as needed
-Willingness to have a Flexible work schedule
-Experience in education is Preferred
Permanent Employment
35 hours a week – Flexible Schedule
Compensation $16-$17 an hour dependent on experience
90 Day Probationary Period
Health Care Coverage Plan available for employee after 90 Day Probationary Period
All work-related expenses covered (mileage, phone, computer, office space)
Paid vacation days, holidays, sick days, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
