Your Day To Day
- Support outage assignments throughout the year for refueling and reactor service projects. This position requires extensive travel via airplane and/or automobile (60%-80%) and working with or around hazardous materials.
- Obtain refueling and reactor service technician qualifications to support outage assignments.
- Perform service center support functions including but not limited to service equipment maintenance and check out equipment and facility decontamination, equipment packing and unpacking shipment preparations, material handling and calibration activities. This requires ability to travel to the Waltz Mill service center on a daily basis between outage
- Review operational and maintenance procedures and drawing in detail.
- Practice a “Safety First” attitude as an integral part of all activities. Demonstrate good housekeeping practices in work areas. Gain and maintain “Unescorted Access” status at nuclear power plant sites.
- Develop, exercise, and promote team-building skills with peers, supervisors, contractors, customers, and other departments. Demonstrate good customer sensitivity and customer service skills. Develop and maintain a focus on creative problem solving.
This position is subject to the requirements of Westinghouse and customer security, unescorted access, and fitness for duty programs. This position also requires the ability to carry/lift 50 pounds and must possess full range of motion.
High school graduate or the recognized equivalent.
Experience Requirement: 3-7years related experience with demonstrated evidence of mechanical and/or electronic aptitude and skill. General knowledge of nuclear power plant operations, maintenance, and inspections. Specific knowledge and training in electrical, electronic, or mechanical curriculum as required, as well as knowledge of mathematics. Practitioner in a predetermined qualification or certification program.
