NATURE OF WORK:

PPerforms professional work supervising the operational, maintenance and programming activities of a regional recreation facility. A regional center differs from a neighborhood or community center in that the center has a gymnasium, the largest attendance level, the largest operating budget/revenue level, is open seven days a week, has active outside groups and the supervisor may have citywide programming responsibilities. An employee in this classification is responsible for promoting the facility for usage, revenue generation and bookkeeping, hiring of facility employees, compiling weekly/monthly records, and purchasing supplies. In addition, the position oversees and manages 21st century grant. Position reports to a Recreation Program Manager and is reviewed through reports, conferences, completion of performance goals and effectiveness of results achieved. Employees may be exposed to weather conditions including extreme heat.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Leisure Services, or related field and three (3) years of experience developing and/or implementing recreational/social programs required; some supervisory experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of related education, training and experience. Experience with grants management and reporting preferred. Commercial Drivers License desired. Valid Florida drivers license required at time of application. Must pass a criminal background check and polygraph examination.

VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT.
