REGIONAL COORDINATOR - DETROIT, MICHIGAN Job at United States Senate
U.S. Senator Gary C. Peters seeks a highly-motivated, organized Regional Coordinator for his Detroit, Michigan, Regional Office. Working with the Senator’s area Regional Directors, primary responsibilities include representing the Senator at community events and conducting outreach to a range of constituents and stakeholders throughout the region which is comprised of the City of Detroit, and Wayne, Monroe, Lenawee and Hillsdale counties. The position also drafts constituent correspondence, assists with projects, manages the office’s internship program, and handles administrative tasks as assigned. Travel throughout the region is required and includes occasional meetings and events during evenings and weekends.
Qualified candidates for this full-time position will have strong familiarity and ties to the region, experience in community outreach, and the ability to work with diverse groups and viewpoints. Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have excellent interpersonal, customer relations, and strong writing skills, and have an interest in public policy and public service. To be successful, one must be both self-motivated and able to work independently, but also comfortable working as part of a large, highly-coordinated team.
