We are looking for three people to join our Hospitality Systems team in a regional role, providing hand-on support and implementation in critical markets across our portfolio of exciting brands.

As a member of the Hospitality Systems team, your role as our Regional IT, Hospitality Systems Specialist, ensures that our solutions are meeting and exceeding our colleague’s needs. You are central to our Hospitality Systems team, assuring that our operational systems are delivered effectively and efficiently to our colleagues. You participate in Hotel Openings and Transitions as well as property revisits to help optimize the solutions and ensure that the hotel users can use the technology effectively.

You are a trained professional who is involved in the day-to-day operation of hospitality solutions from PMS to POS, to Door Lock Systems and Parking Systems, among other technology applications and equipment. You are responsible for supporting technologies that our colleagues use every day.

This role is regional. You will be responsible for providing IT support for multiple hotels and brands in your region. You are comfortable working remotely, and ready to travel when needed. You are at ease working in a highly matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders on numerous competing priorities. You are a solid IT generalist - but expert within hotel systems and with a proven record of creative solutioning and problem solving.

The role of a Regional IT Systems Specialist demands a person who loves to work with hotel users with Teams, a knack for technical troubleshooting, and a commitment to learning and expanding on professional, industry and technical knowledge. Some on-call hours will be required for this position.
Job Description
Responsibilities
  • Provide hotel support and technical issue resolution on hospitality systems and applications.
  • Perform maintenance and modification of various network, infrastructure, and software systems.
  • Perform maintenance and modification of payment systems/partner interfaces and integrations to PMS.
  • Provide remote installation and training to new hotels for various Integrated/POS Software solutions.
  • Set-up, repair, deploy and reprogram equipment and/or software.
  • Report, track and help analyze technical problems and issues associated with the supported solutions or services.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Sonesta core values.

Experience
  • A diverse Hotel IT experience is preferred (3 years)
  • Experience managing multiple initiatives (2 years)
  • In depth knowledge of core Property Management Systems (Oracle V5, Oracle Cloud, others), Point of Sale systems, including Oracle Simphony, InfoGenesis, Squirrel POS in either retail, restaurant, or hotel environment, Digital Signage, ITV, HSIA, and others.
Education
  • College degree preferred or equivalent work experience with major hotel management company
Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job
  • Experience with Sonesta systems: Opera PMS, Oracle Simphony POS, Shift4 Payments, Door Lock Systems (Assa Abloy, Dormakaba, Onity), Digital Signage, Video Surveillance)
  • Experience with and the ability to install and troubleshoot operating systems such as Windows, Android, iOS.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • LAN/WAN Knowledge
  • Experience in maintaining and supporting IT needs in a 24-hour operating environment.
Additional Comments and Requirements
  • Ability to work closely with multiple business units, understanding the varied priorities of those business units
  • Must be a self-starter and comfortable working independently, working with others remotely and with different cultures.
  • This is a remote role. You will need to be comfortable working remotely.
  • As the Regional IT expert, you will be expected to travel to the hotels in your area on a regular basis, as well as on-call as needed. Regional travel to support hotels –may be as high as 40% of time.
  • Regions are currently defined as Western US, South East US, and Central US.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills especially as little face-to-face interaction occurs.
