Role

Responsible for the overall management of retail related activities within Bakersfield - Riverwalk, Bakersfield - Ming, Tehachapi, Tehachapi Tucker Road, Lake Isabella, Kernville. Responsibilities would include sales and service, expense and credit controls, community leadership, human resource management, and meeting financial and compliance standards. Responsible for some commercial (middle market) related activities. May be responsible for developing short and long term strategic planning goals for assigned area.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Exercises executive and administrative control over function of the assigned offices, including participation in the budget process, implementation of area policies, and explanation of company programs and objectives. Responsible for establishing sales goals and strategies, and periodically assessing performance against set goals. Establishing service policies and standards for retail and commercial accounts in order to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Setting and utilizing system controls to track assets, measure the size and performance of the loan portfolio, and meet compliance and record keeping standards; assess the performance and takes appropriate action to ensure that all goals and standards are met.

Responsible for maintaining the workflow/scheduling, employee counseling and performance problems/resolutions, preparation of the annual employee review(s), determine and fulfilling training needs, interviewing and recommending new hires, promotions, demotions, terminations and salary adjustments. Directs and advises all of the areas Retail banking employees to effectively promote and deliver the organizations retail products and services.

Directs the activities of Retail banking and Branch Administration Banking for a geographic area. Develops and coordinates strategies to assure business plan achievement for the Retail banking area.

Assures growth and development of consumer and middle market loans and retail deposits.

Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Physical Requirements

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 5 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must by capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise.
