Position Summary:
Responsible for reviewing outpatient visit documentation and assigning diagnoses (ICD 10 CM) and procedure (CPT) codes in compliance with official coding guidelines and facility policy and procedures. Assures coding is accurate in order for the facility to achieve optimum and appropriate reimbursement.
Position Qualification:
RHIT, RHIA, CCS or CPC certification preferred.
Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT 4 required.
6 months-1 year experience
Years of experience can be related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
