We are currently seeking a Rehab Manager with potential for growth to an area manager for our in-house rehab program!
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
1. Reports to the Facility Administrator with a dotted line relationship with the Regional Director of Rehab
2. Manages and coordinates therapy staff (Full-time, Part-time, Contract and PRN) Therapists, Therapist Assistants and Rehab Technicians in one or more facilities.
3. Communicates regularly with the Regional Director of Rehab
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Coordinates the operations of the rehab department 24/7 to meet Patient needs, the budget and federal and state regulations.
2. Coordinates the assignment of rehab admissions and distribution of caseloads to staff therapists and therapy contractors in an appropriate manner.
3. Provides direct patient care on a daily/weekly basis (up to 50% of the day depending on location). Assures that Patients admitted for treatment receive required therapy services and service delivery is documented appropriately.
4. Serves as a case manager for Medicare, Medicare Advantage and Insurance patients or other complex cases to assure that the rehab teams meets rehab targets and MDS responsibilities under PDPM.
5. Represents the rehab department in the interdisciplinary team at assigned meetings.
6. Ensures that rehab department is compliant with all regulatory issues. This includes assurance that department records are completed and maintained, such as medical record documentation, reimbursement denials management and other survey compliance requirements.
7. Reviews daily and weekly schedules for rehab department to determine accuracy, proper coverage and requirements for staff and notifies Regional Rehab Director of any inconsistencies in staffing pattern.
8. Ensures that 7-day/week variable schedules are maintained and that personnel follow their assigned variable schedules and rotations. Limits PRN utilization and uses only after approval from Regional Rehab Director.
9. Involved in the hiring and terminating of department employees according to company protocol jointly with Human Resources.
10. Assures compliance with appropriate policies and procedures for the department and Facility.
11. Develops and maintains an administrative record system that provides an accurate record of the number of treatments given and labor incurred.
12. Manages utilization and productivity for the department.
13. Demonstrate the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
14. Performs quality assurance monitors to assure that compliance with the company’s clinical documentation standards.
15. Prepares reports regarding rehabilitation services, i.e., utilization, performance improvement, service data, outcome data, productivity, including long term capital budget and short term operation budget.
16. Communicates and coordinates the rehab department in a constructive manner that helps build team rapport and effectiveness.
17. Communicates with Administrator and Regional/Corporate staff regarding department programs, goals, objectives, problems and successes.
18. Communicates with the physicians regarding Patient problems, progress and department programs.
19. Develops department revenue and controls expenditure of funds to meet budgetary requirements.
20. Sets goals and objectives for the department and implements activities to accomplish them.
21. Supervises therapy student programs.
22. Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
23. Adheres to the Cantex Code of Conduct
QUALIFICATIONS
Physical and Sensory Requirements (With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices):
Mobility (includes walking, good balance), reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination, ability to see and hear, ability to read and write, ability to communicate with patients, family members, personnel, and ability to remain calm under stress.
Graduate from an accredited program for Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech-Language Pathology with a Certificate of Clinical Competency.- Current licensure as a therapist in the state of practice.
- Management and supervisory skills.
- Must be able to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
- Must possess problem-solving skills of the type and at level necessary to accomplish the job.
- Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to relate professionally and positively to Patients, Patients family members, and Facility staff.
- Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
- Must meet all local health regulations, pass post-offer drug test, and pass post-employment physical exam if required.
- Must be capable of performing the Responsibilities of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
