Reimbursement Representative - Healthcare Job at RIDGEVIEW MEDICAL CENTER
Purpose of Job
This part-time (64-hours per bi-weekly pay period), benefit eligible position is responsible for managing the billing and remittance responsibilities for all payers.
Job Functions
- Reviews sales orders for accuracy to ensure timely billing.
- Maintains recurrent billings, processes claims, all accounts receivable, and daily ledger of sales.
- Supports Order Specialists as needed regarding reimbursement/insurance criteria coverage.
- Maintains price tables and fee schedules.
- Acts as liaison with all county, waiver, and state aid programs.
- Monitors and tracks all denials.
- Performs chart audits.
- Supports and provides input into organizational and departmental quality improvement plans.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Employment Requirements
Minimum Education / Work Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of health care billing and reimbursement experience
- Experience in computer programs relating to spread sheets, database and word processing applications
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Ability to relate easily and well with others, projecting a positive and mature attitude to customers
- Ability to be detail oriented, well organized, and process information from multiple sources to meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Durable Medical Equipment (DME) experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Payment Posting
- Familiarity with Medicare and DME policy
