**This is NOT a remote position, selected candidate will be required to work in our Ithaca, NY office**


The incumbent in this role will supervise and manage the activities of the Remote Banking Department, including the Lockbox product. Responsible for supervision of assigned staff and coordination of department’s activities with other relevant departments, clients, and functions. Actively promote a cooperative work environment with emphasis on exceptional customer service to internal and external clients.


Responsibilities:

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of individuals engaged in operating machines to encode, add, cancel, scan, photocopy, and sort checks for collection, and to prove records of transactions.
  • Replies to inquiries from staff or customers, finding check copies and proof records when necessary.
  • Remedies account issues with customer over the phone or by email when errors are found. Prepares journal entries to correct account.
  • Responsible for technical set up and maintenance of a variety of different lockbox jobs and scanning procedures. Responsible for troubleshooting of scanning equipment as required.
  • Develop, implement and maintain department policies and operating procedures to ensure consistency with overall Company policies and operating objectives
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with standards, policies, and procedures of the department.
  • Stay current with applicable banking regulations and laws and ensure compliance.
  • Correspond with customers to ensure proper documentation is on file and assist customers with inquiries.
  • Responsible for providing audit department with requested documents and information, and successfully completing all audit requirements.
  • Coordinate process improvement projects and ensures initiatives are in line with employee goals and overall department strategy.
  • Supervise assigned staff as follows:
    • Assist with selection of new employees when required
    • Review employee performance in probationary period and on a regularly scheduled basis thereafter.
    • Make provisions for the proper orientation and training of new staff
    • Communicate pertinent policies and procedures to staff as required
    • Maintain records as required
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (or an Associate’s Degree plus two (2) years of experience).
  • Five (5) years of banking or related experience preferred.
  • Proficient mathematical and accounting skills.
  • Proficient organizational skills, interpersonal relations and communicative skills.
  • Proficient customer service skills, verbal and written.
  • High level of organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong PC, and file transmission knowledge.
  • Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Sufficient technical skills to support department products.
  • Ability to supervise a small group of employees.
