The Medical Records Audit Specialist is responsible for ensuring complete and accurate medical records in accordance with the office procedures and may include a combination of answering telephones, data entry, office machine operation, filing, and mail sorting and delivery.
Responsibilities Include::- Providing copies of medical records as requested by clients/guardians, insurance providers, and others
- Collecting, analyzing and summarizing medical documentation for legal matters and special investigation audits
- Working with Clinical Directors to ensure all records are written and entered in a timely manner
- Assisting with the development of policy and ensuring employee education to policy expectations
- Retrieving medical records and archiving as needed
- Performing other duties as assined
- High school diploma or equivalent, College degree preferred.
- One year of medical records experience
