The Sales Applications Engineer is a critical position to help with the steady growth of the Renewable Energies Group. Within this role, the candidate will be working directly with customers and manufacturers to accurately build proposals for medium voltage equipment and gear based on customer specifications. In this fast-paced position, the ideal candidate will need to be well organized and be willing to go above and beyond to ensure the customer is satisfied with the services and products supplied. There will be many challenges that arise throughout the day and the candidate must be able to remain focused and positive to maintain great relationships with the customers, vendors and within the organization.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service
• Provide proposals on MV Equipment and Gear per customer requirements and specs
• Set up and build proposals within Manufacturers Portals
• Work through large Wire and Cable Proposals
• Work with Manufacturers to find alternative solutions for the customers for all equipment needed
• Transformers, Overhead Equipment, MV Equipment, Rubber Goods/ Terminations, Wire and Cable, Sectionalizing Cabinets, and MV & LV Gear (Switchgear, Switchboards, Panelboards, MTS’, Disconnects) will be the main focus of this individual
• There will also be times where they may have to work with other material as well such as Balance of Systems (conduit, fittings, lugs, connectors, hardware, etc.)
• This role will be heavily interfacing with customers, engineering teams, and manufacturers to determine the best solutions necessary for the project requirements
• This role is predominantly an inside sales role and customer interface will be mainly handled over the phone and emails correspondence
• There will be times that customer visits will be needed, but not on a consistent basis
• Ability to find alternative products through non-traditional avenues/ manufactures
• Set up meeting with manufacturers to discuss their offerings and how they could help us and the customer on their products.

Job Requirements

• Previous Experience in Gear and MV Equipment
• Ability to read and understand Electrical Drawings and Specification
• Ability to interact with customers and manufacturers
• Be a team player and willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to help the team succeed
• High level of verbal and written communication
• Be well organized, highly motivated, and willing to learn new products

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands

This position is moderately active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping. The employee must be able to lift and move items up to 50 pounds.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
