UPMC Community Medicine Incorporated is hiring a full-time Research Assistant to support Orthopaedic Specialists-UPMC located in Bethel Park, PA. This position will work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8am to 4:30pm and Thursdays 10am to 7pm (potential to work remotely on non-clinical days). This position will also require travel to Washington, South Side, and Oakland office locations. The Research Assistant will manage cadaveric training lab and support hand surgery research program.

The Research Assistant provides support as needed to the department. Performs literature searches and assists in the preparation of professional manuscripts and grant proposals and will also be responsible for data collection, entry, and management.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize references and materials for research projects and content areas.
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions with stakeholders and internal staff.
  • Conduct literature searches.
  • Provide support for grant proposal and manuscript development and submission.
  • Participate in meetings, trainings and seminars, both internally and externally.
  • Perform data collection and entry.
  • Assist in data management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, or current enrollment, with some experience in research environment.
  • Experience in the area of public health, psychology, applied research or behavioral health is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and the ability to learn various software packages as needed.
