The Opportunity Alliance is hiring for a Medication Technician at The Bridge. The Bridge is a 12-bed residential treatment program for homeless adults living with a major mental illness, many of whom also experience co-occurring conditions. The program works to address the complex needs of the clients, utilizing an integrated, individualized, and client-centered approach, operated 24 hours/day by staff trained in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and mental health and substance use treatment.

TOA’s The Residential Services Medication Technician is a technical position overseeing the administration of medications for residents of the program. This position contributes to the accomplishment of the Agency mission through the provision of direct service providing oversight on all documentation required within the medication room. This position manages all aspects of the medication administration within the program implementing all medication rules and regulations. This position attends weekly program staff meetings and participates in other meetings as necessary. Work is performed, reviewed, and evaluated under the supervision of the Program Director or their designee.

This is a 40 hour/week, full-time, hourly position located in Portland, ME. This position pays $21.50/hour.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred or equivalent training with at least 2 years of experience in mental health required.
  • Must become certified as Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician 1 (MHRT1) within 1 year of employment; then maintain required trainings to uphold continuous MHRT1 status.
  • Contracts that have Rider D: Must be able to able to successfully pass a criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check.
  • Must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
  • If MHRT is required for position you must pass CNA registry check
  • If residential or ECE employee must be able to pass pre-employment physical and TB screen.
  • Must be able to exert moderate physical effort with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, typing and frequently lift and carry small children or material weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Normal office conditions such as sitting, with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, typing and lifting up to 10 pounds.
  • Driving may be necessary to attend meetings and trainings and for the occasional need to meet with clients offsite and within the program service area. This may include transportation of clients or driving to agency location to complete work. A good driving record is required.
