Job Description
****This is a seasonal position.****
The Resource Specialist provides assistance to The Helping Hands Program, which builds local firefighting capacity through the receipt and distribution of firefighting and rescue equipment.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform labor intensive support and customer service duties. Receive and in-process all donated property. Ship and deliver donated property. Track and account for all inventory. Work with private contractors assigned to test SCBA's. Maintain electronic and paper files. Assist with the disposal of unserviceable equipment. Operate a forklift.
  • Manage and account for all TFS property and credit cards in accordance with applicable laws, policies, rules, procedures and guidelines.
  • Assist and support other agency programs and activities are required.
The following duties and responsibilities also apply: exposure to harsh environmental conditions such as wind, sunlight, rain and temperature extremes, walking long distances, standing for extended periods, twisting, bending, reaching and kneeling, lifting and carrying heavy objects, driving motor vehicles for long distances and operating heavy equipment with related exposure to equipment vibration and noise.
Additionally, emergency response duties may: require working long hours with minimal rest and primitive conditions, result in exposure to emotionally stressful situations for extended periods of time and requiring operating computers with monitors for extended periods of time.

Education and Experience:
Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience: None
Preferred Experience: Experience with the fire service, volunteer fire departments, forestry or emergency services.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required Abilities: Multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Registrations, Certifications and Licenses:
Valid Texas Drivers license
