Fitzsimmons Home Medical Equipment is currently seeking a full-time Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our Northern Chicagoland Home Care Respiratory team!

$5000 sign-on bonus and monthly commissions on NIV setups

Shift: 40 hours per week, 9 am – 9 pm shift; three 12-hour days per week; rotating Sunday and Saturday coverage with RT Team (about 1 Saturday and 1 Sunday per month).

Primary Responsibilities:

• Visiting patients in their home upon hospital discharge to set up respiratory equipment including portable oxygen concentrators, Trilogy and Astral non-invasive ventilators (NIV), CPAP/BiPAPs, trach suction and high humidity aerosol equipment.
• Complete detailed plans of care and conducting respiratory assessments and other clinical services for chronic respiratory disease patients in accordance with AARC best practices; supporting our healthcare partners and office staff by providing a Plan of Treatment upon patient evaluation and reviewing clinical documentation to suggest NIV settings.
• Perform initial respiratory equipment setup in the patients’ home and provide the client with detailed instructions within a 75-mile radius around Bensenville, Illinois.
• Participate in On-Call Rotation outlined about for shifts times, days, and rotation.
• Participate in ongoing education and training sessions regarding respiratory patient care.
• Assists Marketing Department with on-site clinical sales meetings with referral sources.

Requirements:

• Must possess a valid, current RRT/RCP license in State of Illinois.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Graduate of an accredited program for respiratory therapy is required.
• Hold a current CPR certification.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and vehicle to visit patients.
• Minimum physical requirements are the ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. to transport equipment to patient homes, physician offices, and hospitals.
