Overview
Every great experience deserves a great souvenir to remember it by. After taking a safari tour, our guests visit The Wilds gift market where you will greet and assist in guest shopping needs. Days range from checkout operation to warehouse and sales floor organization.
Responsibilities
- Greet and provide all guests of the Wilds with prompt, friendly service.
- Execute accurate sales transactions allowing for accurate record keeping.
- Encouraging our guests to round up their sale, increasing the dollars available.
- Maintain work area, including restocking, cleaning and inventory.
- Maintain brochure racks, including filling and ordering brochures.
- Answer and correctly transfer incoming calls and take and deliver messages.
- Learn about the Wilds and the species here in order to accurately answer questions.
- Provide support to other visitor operations/park operations positions as needed.
- Strive to further the mission of the organization and support the Wilds, Zoo, Zoombezi Bay and Safari Golf Club.
- Posted schedule may be subject to change based on operational needs such as weather condition, guest attendance and department needs.
Qualifications
- 16 years of age or older.
- Positive, professional attitude.
- Good math, communication and keyboarding skills.
- Ability to adapt easily to changing circumstances in a busy work place.
- Good decision making skills.
- Ability to operate a two-way radio.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays from May-Oct.
- Ability to provide excellent guest service and uphold the Make it G.R.E.A.T. standards.
- Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with all Wilds/Zoo team members.
- Communicate well both verbally and in writing required.
- Plan and organize work in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Possession of a valid Ohio driver’s license and a good driving record is a must.
- Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
