JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Retail Sales Associate

Division: Fremont Thrift Store

Reports to: Store manager

Work Location: Fremont

Hours: Full Time, Regular

Status: Non-Exempt / Hourly

Salary Range: $17.00 per hour

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Motivate purchases to meet the organization’s goals

Create a customer’s sense of urgency to purchase goods

Answer questions of customersResolve any customer service issues that arise

Price and stock furniture and larger items for sale

Supervise loading of sold larger items in customers’ vehicles

Ensure customers have the proper receipts leaving the store with merchandise

Maintain a neat and orderly sales floor

Mitigate slip and fall hazards throughout the building

Maintain and store equipment and materials in designated areas

Ensure proper fire safety egress at all times

Assist with clearing the store of customers at closing

Notify security and management of any suspected shoplifting or other troubling behavior by patrons

Notify donations personnel of any specific item requests from patrons

Follow company policies and procedures

Other projects as assigned

• GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Excellent customer service skills

· A passion for serving others

· Ability to provide work leadership to others

· Must be able to work flexible hours, evenings, and weekends or longer shifts if needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to move independently or with reasonable accommodation within the store.

• Applicant must be physically and mentally able to perform all requirements of the job.

• Able to lift and carry 20-100 pounds with team lifting or mechanical assistance.

• Able to stand, stoop, bend, or carry for extended periods.

• Able to go up and down steps.

• Able to stand and walk entire shift.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED
