About Forest Park Carousel: The Forest Park Carousel Amusement Village is nestled within 544 acres of the scenic, historic surroundings of Forest Park and is home to one of two known surviving carousels hand-crafted by world-renowned artist, Daniel Carl Muller. It’s also a NYC Designated Landmark! We provide our guests with a fun variety of classic amusement rides and games, free shows, private birthday parties, special group packages, and more!

Position Summary: You will operate our various rides by ensuring the safety of guests and fellow team members through implementation of the Standard Operating Procedures including the queue, loading, operation, and unloading process. All our Ride Operators are cross trained in rides that cross-over between both locations. There is potential to work at both sites when needed.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Greet and interact cordially with guests; take appropriate action to answer questions, educate the guest about the ride and its safety rules
• Follow the Standard Operating Procedures as instructed
• Test and inspect equipment daily before opening
• Enforce ride restrictions and recommendations to ensure a safe guest experience
• Assist guests, as trained, with loading and unloading the rides, particularly small children or guests with a disability
• Check safety restraints and ensure they are correctly secured before ride is placed in motion
• Maintain cleanliness of the ride area

Requirements

• Must be 18 years old
• Must be able to smile and have a fun can-do positive attitude
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays
• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
• Must be able to read and write and have basic arithmetic skills
• Must be able to stand for prolonged long periods of time
• Must adhere to uniform standards
• Must be able to speak fluent English
