Overview:

Responsibilities:
  • Answer the Room Service extension in a professional manner and using proper phone etiquette. Provide the requested information to the callers associated with: hours of operation, wait time, menu selections and availability. Insure prompt, expedient and courteous service to all Guests calling in orders.
  • Speak showing a genuine interest in the Guests’ needs or questions and always attempt to accommodate any reasonable request.
  • Maintain a record of the number of Guests served during the assigned shift. Log the numbers to the tickets in tip records at the end of the shift.
  • Inquire as to the number of persons in the preferred party. Determine the appropriate tray/table set up according to the party size, room space available and group needs.
  • Ensure that all transactions or adjustments to the receipt have been made and are properly documented and recorded before ringing up the sale.
  • Proficiently operate the established POS systems by following the correct cashier procedures, identifying the correct receipt ticket and that the approved comping procedures or Player’s Club discounts are followed, when applicable.
  • Attempt to resolve all Guest complaints when possible or ensure that the Restaurant Manager/Shift Supervisor is immediately contacted to address those Guest’s issues, concerns or requests that cannot be corrected at that time.
  • Maintain the accountability and accuracy of the assigned cash bank drawer and complete all cash and credit transactions according to established cash handling procedures.
  • Calculate, prepare and maintain any tip payout slips that may be required. Ensure that they are accumulated and/or distributed to the correct Associates as determined by the outlet policies.
  • Assist the Food Servers in delivering the menu items ordered and dispensing the beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic as needed. Function as a Food Server or Banquet Server during peak business times or as required.
  • Take phone messages as necessary and assist in relieving departmental officials of minor administrative duties, when possible.
  • Maintain a good working relationship and provide daily detailed communications with the Restaurant Manager, the Food Shift Supervisors, Food and Beverages Leaders and other co-workers.
  • Conduct themselves at all times in accordance with the established Resort’s Mission, Value System, and Guest Promise. Notify co-workers of discrepancies noticed. Adhere to all grooming standards.
  • Assist in protecting and safeguarding all property assets.
  • Assists other restaurant personnel with maintenance and cleanliness (side work, opening/closing duties) as necessary.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

AGE and GAMING:
21 years of age or above.

Gaming property – Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED is preferred. Previous cash handling experience and experience in using a POS(Point of Sales) system to ring up orders and make change is preferred.

TESTING:

Must be able to pass the Basic Math Test with 85%, must take the required testing identified for this position. (Testing must be completed within 5 business days of applying in order to be considered for this position.)

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required. Must be Serv-Safe certified or certifiable with-in 180 days. Must be C.A.R.E. (Controlling Alcohol Risks Effectively) certified before starting to work. Must have experience using POS system.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees and one on one.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Essential responsibilities include light to moderate physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least forty (40) pounds. Perform position responsibilities and excessive standing/walking 90% of the shift and/or essential functions on slippery or wet surfaces. Must be able to work while wearing latex, vinyl, or rubber gloves. Bending, stooping and stretching of arms during assigned shift.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an Associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Associates must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
