Safety, Health and Environmental Supervisor

Summary

Ensure that the facility remains in compliance with Federal and State regulations and that no actions are taken which might have negative impact on human health or the environment. Will be responsible for overseeing the Safety Tech, Safety Associate and Custodian positions.

Responsibility

• Enforces compliance of policies and procedures pertaining to safety, health and environmental matters
• Technical support to the engineering department on process improvements and new operations
• Manages the storage and shipment of hazardous waste including developing waste streams. May be responsible for assisting with negotiations of waste disposal contracts.
• Establish and update emergency plans and procedures
• Review accidents and incidents within the plant to establish cause and avoid recurrence
• Develop, update and distribute communication of safety plans and programs
• Reports to Federal and State agencies including annual reports licenses, OSHA logs, etc.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university OR High School Diploma with 5 years in manufacturing environment working with waste disposal.

• Great organizational, verbal and written communication
• Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
• Ability to adapt to schedule changes. Regular and Reliable attendance is required.
• Able to stand for long periods of time in extreme heat or cold temperatures
• Required to climb, balance, stoop or kneel throughout the shift
