The SAFETY SPECIALIST is responsible for overseeing and coordinating BHcare’s Environmental Safety and Emergency Management program.

Required qualifications:

  • 3-5 years experience in environmental safety and emergency management, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with individuals throughout the organization
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, convey strong professional, positive attitude, and maintain confidentiality.

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate and facilitate BHcare’s environmental safety program to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Oversee all required inspections to ensure timely completion and accurate documentation.
  • Collect and analyze safety data to identify opportunities for improvement, plan and implement corrective action and monitor sustained improvement.
  • Coordinate the emergency management and disaster preparedness program, to include hazard vulnerability assessments, emergency operations plans, and implement and maintain BHcare’s incident command system.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent with minimum of three (3) years demonstrated experience in health and safety compliance. Bachelors Degree in preferred.
  • Specialized training and/or certification in Safety and Facility management in health care environments, OSHA, EPA, Hazardous Materials management, or related coursework and training.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals throughout organization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, prepare reports and documents as required.
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in team environment, convey strong professional, positive attitude, and maintain confidentiality.
