The Housing Specialist is responsible for the coordination of the admission and marketing process, in addition to administrative duties. This Individual fields inquiries from various sources, gathers information, assists with determining placement options and facilitate admission to appropriate Guardian Angels Division. Responsible for representing Guardian Angels in various marketing activities, builds referral base and community relationships. This position will deal heavily with the general public, outside referral sources and facility management staff. Will assist with front office duties and provide coverage when needed.

Located on Lake Orono, Guardian Angels By The Lake offers senior apartments with supportive assistance, as well as specialized memory care services. Here, residents find an enriching lifestyle with an abundance of amenities. Home Care services allow residents to remain as healthy and independent as possible.

A beautiful community offering 90 units, including 60 apartments for assisted living and 30 memory care suites. The community also features wide hallways, a coffee shop, dining room with meals served daily, beauty and barber shop, gardens and common areas to gather and socialize. The staff at Guardian Angels By The Lake engage residents with social, recreational, educational and spiritual activities and programs to meet the many interests of our residents. There also are daily exercise classes, worship, holiday and birthday celebrations, musical performances and group outings keep residents involved and excited.
Responsibilities:
  • Receive incoming inquiries for Guardian Angels family of service from various referral sources.
  • Gather assessment information regarding the prospective clients’ needs regarding level of services and care.
  • Determine appropriate placement opportunities within the Guardian Angels family of services.
  • Provide facility tours and explanation of services to potential clients.
  • Coordinate and complete required admission paperwork with client and/or representative.
  • Assist with in-facility room change coordination.
  • Maintain waiting list/data base of inquiries as well as up to date mailing lists.
  • Provide follow up with referral sources/families. This includes updating wait lists, post admission follow up and contacts with hospital discharge planners.
  • Maintain a record of referral sources and admissions and track such activities.
  • Work with area healthcare providers and agencies in cultivating potential referral sources and building working relationships.
  • Promote and represent the Guardian Angels family of services in the community and build community relations.
  • Facilitate the planning, marketing and educational events promoting Guardian Angels.
  • Assists with office duties providing front desk coverage, answering phones, copying and other clerical duties.
  • Assists with bookkeeping and accounting processes as needed.
  • Assist as needed with discharge process.
  • To assist in providing a dignified, respectful, resident-centered environment for residents.

Qualifications:
  • Three to five years’ prior experience in marketing/community relations, social work or related field, preferably in an assisted living, senior housing or long term care setting.
  • Organized with attention to detail and ability to prioritize. Computer proficiency.
  • Strong communication and public relation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with other healthcare professionals, institutions, and agencies and develop and maintain positive relationships and a variety of referral sources.
  • AA degree or Bachelor’s Degree highly desired in health care administration, marketing, or related field
