Sales and Catering Coordinator

The Bertram Inn & Conference Center, is currently seeking a Sales and Catering Coordinator that is high-energy and a driven sales professional to join our dynamic team. The Sales and Event Coordinator is responsible for selling all aspects of private events held within our ample 25,000sq. ft. banquet spaces, This includes but is not limited to social, corporate, weddings, retreats, sports teams as well as other market segments. The ideal candidate will develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

*Must have computer skills and and be highly organized

*Provide the highest quality of service to the client at all times.

· Provide quick and timely responses and immediate communication to the team.

· Develop professional long-term business relationships

· Contact customers via telephone correspondence or in person as frequently as
necessary to obtain all details needed to successful execute the event.

· Develop staff plans and timelines for event and communicates to all departments

· Execute event from start to finish to include closing down of the event.

· Responsible for ordering and return of all rental items.

· Responsible for effectively communicating with various departments and vendors to ensure that the event functions are executed to exceed clients’ expectations.

· Maintains well documented, accurate, organized and up-to-date file managements in order to serve client and employer in the most expedient organized, and knowledgeable manner.

· Completes any required event reports. Including securing payment

· Represent The Bertram, in a professional manner at all times.

· Complies with hotel policies and procedures.

· Track record of consistently exceeding sales quotas and targets over time.

· Adept at managing and prioritizing multiple clients and events in a fast -paced environment.

• Creates and implements event planning documents (BEO), including an event timeline, checklist, task assignments and floor plans.
• Ability to work independently without close oversight
• Sets a strong example for others by initiating
• Night, holidays and weekend work will be required!

Job Requirements:

· Two to Four years’ experience of Catering/Private Events sales in applicable markets

· Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent professional experience.

· Solid understanding of event revenue generation, front and back of the house logistics

· Proven track record of sales performance, and prospecting programs that drive event revenue.

· Proven ability in leadership, communication and negotiating skills

· High energy and outgoing personality

· Organizational and time management skills with an attention to detail.

· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Suite, Word and Excel

· Front-line hospitality experience where there is significant exposure and contact with customers/victors
