The Sales Tax Analyst role gets to work across these great brands to strengthen compliance and build processes that will be leveraged as the MTY Group adds other brands to its US portfolio.

Position Overview: In this engaging role, the Sales Tax Analyst champions MTYs commitment to quality, service, integrity, and teamwork by:

• 
  Preparing monthly sales and use tax reports and performing reconciliations of the transactions
• Preparing annual personal property tax returns
• Performing reconciliations of various complex transactions and tax general ledger accounts proficiently.
• Acting as the lead person on all sales tax audits by providing data and answering auditors' questions regarding policy, procedure, and account reconciliations in a timely manner.
• Identifying, analyzing, and researching tax related system issues independently.
• Conducting research according to applicable tax laws and regulations to mitigate audit assessments and risk.
• Acting as in-house sales and use tax resource
• Ensuring sales and use tax registrations and business license applications are completed for existing as well as new locations.
• Working with internal departments such as Sales, Billing, and IT as well as external entities such as vendors to ensure sales tax obligations are met
• Assisting with developing and implementing process improvements
• Other tax duties as assigned

What you bring to the table:

• Experience working through multi-state sales and use tax audits
• Knowledge of sales and use tax laws and regulations as well as multi-state sales and use tax compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects independently in a dynamic, rapid changing environment.
• Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret and present information to management and staff members.
• Independent, efficient worker with demonstrated initiative. Must be technically competent, assertive, and results oriented.
• Excellent oral and written communicational skills.
• Proficient in computer skills including MS Office, Excel, Word, Microsoft GP, Sage 300 experience, preferred
• Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive materials and information

Foundations of your career:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience
