POSITION SCOPE AND PURPOSE: Responsible for the planning and execution of the IQMS Molding production schedule in support of manufacturing’s goal of on-time customer order fulfillment for the SMC East Division.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Analyze equipment, materials and customer requirements to produce production schedule and meet shipping deadlines.
• Conduct daily production meetings and/or Gemba walks for effective communication of production requirements.
• Implement required daily changes to meet the changing customer requirements.
• Communicate delivery dates to customer service. 100% on Time Delivery Goal.
• Regular attendance.

OTHER POSITION DUTIES:

• Schedule Test requests from Engineering.
• Monitor active inventory requirements and work center loading.
• Analyze daily back log and job reports for work center capacities and late jobs.
• Develop and track daily detailed schedules.
• Analyze delivery schedules for components, resins, packaging, and out source delivery for impact on scheduled orders.
• Review molding capacity on a quarterly basis
• Bi-annual analysis of Auto MRP
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; a team player; and ability to develop a team atmosphere. Able to communicate with all levels of staff.
• Solid computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, IQMS and email.
• Strong analytical and problem solving techniques.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, planning and control systems.
• Ability to lift 20 pounds.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

• Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of force greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
• Ability to work for extended periods sitting and looking at computer while completing repetitive motions to include substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; reviewing detailed information; viewing a computer terminal; and expansive reading.
• The ability to manage a number of projects at one time with frequent interruptions and tight deadlines.

EQUIPMENT USED: Computer, printer, telephone/cell phone, calculator, computer systems, IQMS software, and fax machine.

CONTACTS: Customers, all SMC employees, Vendor Sales Representatives.

SUPERVISION OF PEOPLE: This position does not supervise employees.
