Requirements: Vermont licensure as a Guidance Counselor
Job Description:
Elementary caseload
Plans and teaches lessons with individuals or small groups of students during literacy and math blocks based on student needs identified by teachers and coaches
Provides and progress monitors short or long term targeted interventions based on changing student needs
Develops learning centers within the classroom in collaboration with coaches and classroom teachers
Locates and organizes instructional materials as needed
Collaboration, Coaching, Consulting: Participates in team meetings to promote a collaborative culture and create a climate of trust and critical reflection in order to engage colleagues in challenging conversations about student learning
Collaborates with Leadership Team to analyze, monitor, and improve Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
Supports the use of technology to enhance learning with the Library Media Specialist
Refines instruction and interventions with grade level teams, individual teachers, coaches, and administration to increase differentiation in the classroom
Engages in reflective dialogue with colleagues based on observations, student work, and assessment data
Assessment: Assists in the coordination and implementation of school assessments (prepares, disseminates, collates and reports on assessment data for the team)
Collaborates with team in the design, implementation, scoring, interpretation of student data to improve student learning
