Summary: Responsible for carrying out and directing the project(s) identified to be the goals of the Center for Quality and Surgical Oncology Outcome in the Department of Surgery. One or two-year onsite fellowship focused on health service research. Goal of the fellowship is to prepare the fellow for an academic career. Applications are reviewed as they are submitted.


Education: MD, Ph.D. or equivalent. Prior experience in research is a must.


Experience: 3-5 years experience in surgery / research. Prior health service research focus / interest on health disparities, geriatrics, value-based care, and population management is plus. Prior publication and presentation experience at national and international meetings & statistical analysis with outcome data are highly desirable. Training includes protocol and project design, IRB submission, data collection, statistical analysis, and grant writing.


Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or Safety Requirements:

Standard working conditions (clean, well-lighted, temperature controlled) office space / clinic. Some lifting required (not more than 50 lbs.). Meets all Safety training requirements of the Medical Center.
