Montai Health is seeking a creative, motivated Sr. Scientist/Scientist, Formulations to play a role in the Delivery team's efforts to develop oral delivery solutions for small molecule modalities. S/he will be an expert in various pre-formulation and formulation processes needed for oral delivery systems of small molecules, natural products, and related samples. The candidate will contribute critically to shaping the vision and strategy of the Delivery group. S/he will bring a strong entrepreneurial orientation, demonstrate strong communication skills, and be comfortable working in and contributing to a very dynamic and cross-functional team environment. Role

• Independently lead planning, design, execution, and interpret results of specific development projects and following DoE and QbD principles
• Develop formulations for poorly soluble drug substances – lipid solutions, suspensions, emulsions, spray-dried dispersions, and lipid-based delivery systems
• Perform pre-formulation studies on small molecule raw materials
• Maintain hands-on knowledge and perform analytical tasks with DLS, Laser Diffraction, chromatography, dissolution, stability tests and other processes for specific formulations
• Interpret results, prepare, and communicate conclusions and recommendations for next steps in the project to relevant members.
• Document technical sections and observations in ELN.
• Prepare and present scientific data within Delivery Team and with Company-wide review settings.
• Utilize scientific knowledge and experience to provide innovative solutions around molecular nutrition dosage to protect and strengthen human health sustainability.
• Act as a core team member on multiple concurrent projects and lead small projects internally and with CROs
• Generate technical relationships with internal/external stakeholders and collaborators, to strengthen the team and expand organizational goals

Qualifications:

• PhD degree in Bio/Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Technology, or related scientific field or BS/MS with equivalent industry experience.
• 2-5+ years of industry experience with in-depth knowledge and hands on experience with small molecules and/or oral delivery formulations.
• Experience with DOE, process development, high-throughput screening and/or analytical characterization techniques (material characterization, UV-Vis, fluorescence, particle characterization, DSC, chromatography, CryoEM, rheological methods).
• Experience with GxP practices and laboratory management.
• Ability to connect team visions and complex goals with problem-solving and independent task management approaches.
• Ability to independently lead, design, conduct, and analyze experiments.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving start-up environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
