Job Location/Shift:

This position is with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of State Parks and will be located at Meramec State Park, 115 Meramec Park Drive, Sullivan MO. This position will be temporary, extending the length of the recreation season between mid-May and mid-August. The work hours are flexible and negotiable; but shall be expected to be between 30 to 40 hours per week, not to exceed 1,000 hours total during the length of the employment. A full time Naturalist will train and assist seasonal naturalists on how to interpret the park’s natural wonders for visitors.

What you’ll do:

• Present Fisher Cave Tours.
• Present evening programs, nature walks, stream wades.
• Minor trail maintenance.
• Assist with the visitor center contact station.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience/Special Job Requirements

• Ability to do public speaking.
• Applicants must be willing to work some evenings/weekends.
• Students with education in the natural sciences such as biology, botany, ecology, environmental education, geology, speleology, ornithology, natural history interpretation, wildlife sciences.
