Pool Guard weekends and weekday during groups from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

The primary responsibility as a Pool Guard is to prevent drowning and other injuries from occurring. Candidates must be able to ensure the safety of patrons by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors.

• The Pool Guard will need to be able to solve on-the-job issues by utilizing effective critical thinking and decision-making skills and possess the ability to work with diverse populations. Pool Guards must be able to enforce pool policies and be able to communicate effectively why policies are in place. Report issues immediately to the onsite Director/Manager on duty.

Work schedule: Must be available to work a minimum of 10-15 hours per week from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Rate of pay to start $18.00 per hour. NO BENEFITS

• Weekday Tuesday & Wednesday 10:00AM-5:00PM occasionally until 6:00PM
• Weekend Saturday 9:00AM-6:00PM, Sunday 10:00AM-3:00PM

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Preferred.
• Current CPR/ First Aid/AED Certifications Required.
• Ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements, strenuous activity, and on occasion assist or lift persons in distress of varying weights.
• Required to remain alert to dangerous situations while sitting, standing, or walking for various lengths of time.
• Extensive knowledge of and ability to administer or use first aid, CPR, AED, and other lifesaving techniques.
• Excellent observational skills.
• Ability to enforce pool regulations and rules.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous pool guard experience required.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be a skilled swimmer and able to pull weight through the water.
• Must be physically able to rescue someone drowning or injured in the water.
• Prolonged periods of being outdoors.
