Seeking

The William Vale seeks an individual to manage daily functions of the Security department ensuring safety and protection of employees, guests, and property. We seek a friendly professional with excellent judgement and a leadership mentality.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & People Responsibilities

  • Encourages a team minded culture. Serves as a role model demonstrating appropriate behaviors and expectations.
  • Trains team in established emergency procedures and procedure codes. Communicates the importance of safety. Ensures employee understanding by monitoring process and procedures of team. Informs/updates team on all relevant info in a timely manner.
  • Coaches and critiques the performance of the security department, establishing and maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.
  • Handles complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts.
  • Establishes close working relationships with other departments. Develops liaison relationship with local law enforcement and emergency services.

Safety Responsibilities

  • Maintain FLSD certification and serve as the Fire and Life Safety Director for The William Vale property.
  • Assists in all Security operations, including but not limited to: patrolling, emergency response, investigations for all guest and employee related incidents, shipping and receiving, electronic key system usage, manager on duty responsibilities, administering fire prevention and first aid programming, random bag checks, providing escorts, lost and found.
  • Complies with applicable laws and safety regulations.
  • Follows up on all unusual activities in and around the property which could impair safety.
  • Maintains integrity of the Security Department through unannounced “spot checks” of the property to identify areas in need of corrective action.

Administration / Organization Responsibilities

  • Scheduling for security department team weekly.
  • Completes all record keeping requirements in accordance with property and division standards, including: OSHA reports, first report of injury, incident reports, employee accident analysis, security analysis, key control, and daily log.
  • Conducts hazard and risk assessments, including quarterly OSHA/safety audits, incident tracking, and the hazard abatement process. Demonstrates knowledge of all brand loss prevention guidelines.
  • Develop monthly checklists for all cctv equipment, alarmed doors, and duress alarms, ensuring full functionality.
  • Holds quarterly meetings supporting the Director of Security.

Qualifications

  • FLSD Certification & NYS Security Guard Certificate
  • 3 years’ security supervisor experience in hospitality arena, ideally in a hotel setting.
  • Proof of full Covid-19 vaccination prior to first date of employment.
  • Required Availability: Flexibility needed. Nights and weekend shifts may be required.

Skills Required:

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Understanding of Saflok, Orbita, DW Spectrum is a plus.
  • Reliable and operate with a sense of urgency regarding email communication and follow up.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Communication and listening. Ability to effectively present information in 1:1 and group settings. Ability to listen to concerns raised.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and grooming.
  • Ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds. Standing for 6 to 12 hours.
  • Must be available to work varied shifts – including weekends and holidays.
