Purpose of Job

This part-time (72-hours per bi-weekly pay period), benefit eligible position is responsible for performing the duties of patrolling and securing facility, buildings and grounds.

Job Functions

• Performs essential security functions to protect the assets of Ridgeview Medical Center from loss, damage, and /or unauthorized access.
• Escorts personnel/visitors to and from parking areas as requested.
• Fulfill key responsibilities during organization’s management of emergency plans.
• Assists staff in patient care areas and communication center as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Performs additional duties as necessary for Security & Safety training

When acting as Instructor or Instructor Assistant:

• • Oversee MOAB, ASP & Taser training for the security team
  • Facilitate MOAB training and scheduling for the organization
  • Coontinuing education for instructor certification
  • Maintaining security officer equipment training and official use
  • Collaborate with instructors to write course descriptions.
  • Develop lesson plans, course guides and other training documentation.
  • Aid faculty in the design and implementation of educational courses.

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Must be at least 21 years old in order to meet Ridgeview’s insurability requirements

• Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
• Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
• Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in the English language and respond accordingly in order to complete job functions as mentioned above

• Emergency Medical Responder (if not certified at time of hire, must complete an approved class within 6 months of hire)
• Valid MN driver's license and meets Ridgeview's insurability requirements

• National Registry EMT-Basic certification
