POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision provides full support to dispatchers to include all initial and recurrent training, supervision of a variety of shifts including weekends, and related public services.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensures all dispatch personnel are inputted and updated in HSS Payroll and Billing system (Vision).
  • Maintains and works directly with directors, managers, and VPs in ensuring client’s on various projects, (i.e. Access Control, Incident Reporting, Video Monitoring, Alarms, etc.)
  • Maintains dispatchers file folders and ensures training and credentials are met according to HSS and client policy.
  • Supervises dispatchers and ensures they perform their functions effectively.
  • Assumes responsibility of the Security Facility Supervisor/Security Program Manager in their absence as directed.
  • Assists the Security Facility Supervisor/Security Program Manager with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Responsible for coaching, training, recognizing and recommending corrective action opportunities regarding staff performance and behavior.
  • Assigns security duties and maintains appropriate staffing levels as circumstances warrant in accordance with HSS and client policies and procedures.
  • Facilitates the coordination, collection, and data entry of weekly/monthly/annual security preventive maintenance checks, select security indicators and measurements of goals in accordance to compliance and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Answers, documents, and dispatches all incoming calls for Security Services according to established protocols in a prompt manner.
  • Thoroughly and accurately documents/enters all calls for record and appropriate follow up.
  • Generates infant security (Hugs) reports as directed.
  • Generates S2 reports for access control groups to ensure personnel transfers and staff are provisioned access for new areas and that older area access is deleted.
  • Assists supervisors in reviewing reports in HSS incident reporting system (Perspective) for accuracy and as requested provides security director with incident reporting data (specific/trend).
  • Coordinates and supports access control maintenance and service activities with integrators.
  • Maintains temp badges for short term contractors and key control inventory at dispatch.
  • Ensures training and dispatch competencies task checklists are up to date according to both HSS and client requirements.
  • Updates client information for unit and construction changes.
  • Ensures quarterly and annual incident report surveys and analysis are completed.
  • Creates user roles, profiles, password resets for client access control and application provisioning systems. (S2, Winpak, and ESAF).
  • Conducts daily dispatch duties as needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
This the second in a series of two Dispatcher job classifications. Incumbents typically perform routine functions.

Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. or equivalency or any equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the job.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • IAHSS Basic Officer, Advanced Officer and Supervisor Certifications preferred or must be completed with one (1) year of promotion.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable jurisdictional security license(s) or certifications and/or client/contract specific licenses or certifications
  • Obtain/maintain valid Driver’s License and meet company driving standards.
Preferred:
  • Associate’s degree or higher formal education.
  • Prefer previous experience working with the public in a service setting.
  • Prefer one (1) year of supervisory experience; healthcare security or service industry experience.
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
  • Policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability in basic computer skills such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook, or other job-related software.
Skill in:
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Both verbal and written communication with a diverse population within the organization.
Abilities to:
  • Excellent customer service skills and genuine desire to assist people and provide protection.
  • Write detailed reports and correspondence.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Understand and carry our directions and instructions.
  • Work and interact with a variety of people including, but not limited to, HSS employees, client employee, patients, visitors, physicians and the general public
