Job Summary: Manages a shift and/or a segment of guarding operations at multiple sites at the direction of line management. Supervises security personnel, performs inspections, and ensures that procedures are being followed. Coaches and trains personnel and carries out administrative procedures in support of security operations.

Primary Functions

· Manages a shift and/or segment of guarding operations at multiple sites, including supervision of subordinate officers, ensures that personnel deliver high quality service.

· Ensures that service expectations are being met, evaluates service quality, inspects posts and initiates corrective action in a timely manner as necessary.

· Meets with line management for status updates and to address any actual or potential problems; provides support during investigations, provides input to security planning, assessments, and surveys; reviews procedures, communicates requirements and trains affected personnel.

· Performs constant evaluations of subordinates; generates and implements corrective actions to resolve subordinate deficiencies

· Writes standard operating procedures

· Performs as the Incident Commander during all emergency events and direct personnel in the proper response

· Participates in and coordinates with line management regarding the orientation, training, development, and retention of high caliber staff; ensures that each staff member is treated with dignity and respect; coaches’ employees and carries out disciplinary actions, as necessary.

· Participates and coordinates with line management on company/department goals and objectives

· Troubleshoots and resolves issues with security access devices and equipment

· Maintains and verifies payroll records and other employee and business information, reviews department reports for accuracy and timeliness

· Maintains a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; acts to ensure that staff members understand and comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

· Communicates and coordinates with line management regarding scheduling, staffing, equipment, record keeping, and related matters, to ensure smooth delivery of services; makes scheduling and staffing adjustments as needed to meet requirements while controlling labor costs; reviews report to ensure that commitments have been met and client directions have been followed.

· Provides input to company initiatives; promptly assists line management in the resolution of legal, financial, human resources, and administrative issues.

· Performs tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required

Education

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Preferably successful completion of fifty (50) college credits in the field of Security, Law Enforcement, Firefighting, Management, Human Relations, Psychology, Sociology or Business

Experience

  • Preferably four (4) years of Supervisory experience in physical security overseeing a minimum of four (4) personnel or.
  • Two (2) years of Supervisory experience in physical security overseeing a minimum of four (4) personnel in a manufacturing environment or.
  • Two (2) years as a Supervisor in a law enforcement related field or.
  • Two (2) years as an E-3 or above in the armed forces
  • Education can supplement experience under the following conditions:
  • College credits must be in the field of Security, Law Enforcement, Firefighting, Management, Human Relations, Psychology, Sociology or Business
  • College credits in related field shall be accepted as a supplement for experience using a calculation of twelve (24) credits being equal to one (1) year of experience

· Frequent sitting, standing, and walking, which may be required for long periods of time to include climbing of stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain.

· Maintaining composure in dealing with authorities, clients, staff, and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.

· Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, and behavioral selection survey.

· Required ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.

· Responding on an on-call basis to emergencies and incidents at all hours.

· Close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus

· May be required to use company vehicle in the performance of duties

· On occasion may be required to perform in stressful situations to include during emergencies

· May be exposed to inclement weather or be required to work in environments or under conditions that require the use of protective gear and/or awareness of personal safety and safety of others

· May be subject to permanent working schedule changes with three (3) days’ notice

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.41 - $20.05 per hour
