Eaton’s Aerospace Division is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team. This position is based at our Davenport, IA facility.

Position Overview:

Mission Systems Davenport is seeking a Senior Accountant whose main activity relates to sales and gross margin reporting. Also amount main duties are: forecasting and budgeting; preparing journal entries; and capacity planning. Knowledge of Oracle ERP is a plus to ensure costing transactions are setup and processed correctly.

In this function you will:

  • Investigates, analyses and communicates finding related to financial performance.
  • Research and analyze historical data. Work with detailed data and maintain traceability to a summary level.
  • Participates in development of cost controls, procedures, systems and forecasting techniques to evaluate performance to bid, budget and forecast.
  • Conducts financial and operational audits by examining and verifying accounting or operational records
  • Analyze and respond to customer fact-findings and external audits.
  • Examines records to ensure proper recording of transactions in compliance with applicable laws, agreements, and policies.
  • Prepares reports of findings and recommendations to management.
  • May support Divisions and Subsidiaries in evaluating and recommending improvements to business practices, processes, and control procedures
  • Performs all operations according to prescribed safety and environmental principles.
  • All other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of Cost Accountant experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports, work instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now or in the future.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of 50 miles of Davenport, IA will be considered.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Complete understanding and broad application of financial principles (US GAAP and IFRS), theories, and concepts.
  • Full knowledge of industry practices and standards.
  • Ability to work on problems of complex and diverse scope.
  • Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
  • Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions.
