The senior accountant is an integral part of the finance team. The role is responsible for providing accurate financial and statistical data for management to make timely data-based decisions concerning the financial performance of the businesses.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages monthly accounting close cycle for assigned companies; prepares journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end financial statements.
• Prepares and analyzes financial and operational reports for distribution to internal management, banks, and other external parties.
• Coordinates cross-training of the accounting processes for all companies in the portfolio.
• Reviews and recommends improvements to internal controls and department procedure documentation.
• Coordinates and ensures timely completion of financial audits for three companies.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5-8 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong ERP skills and prior experience with Dynamics Great Plains & SSRS are a plus.
• Advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
• Understands and can explain warehouse management systems, bills of materials, and standard cost accounting.
• Strong work ethic and flexibility to work under tight deadlines.
• Commitment and experience with continuous process improvement.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• A high level of integrity, drive, and commitment to teamwork.
• Ability to establish credibility and be decisive.
• Ability to work independently or as a team member.
• Comfortable with working in an entrepreneurial, dynamic environment
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
